Slum urban areas like Kunya community are faced with numerous challenges in the fight against climate change such as the growing populations, congestion, and the increased of informal settlements and more. These are often worsened by issues involving poor waste management, air pollution, food insecurity along with the degradation of natural ecosystems. All of these continue to significantly affect the livelihoods and well being of people living in such communities. These impacts usually worsened during climate related events such as flooding and heat waves.
