Musinguzi greening his home in Makindye

The bags where usinguzi plants his vegetables

Musinguzi David is an urban farmer in Makindye, Wasswa zone. Musinguzi says he learnt the benefits of urban farming from a Ghetto Go Green demonstration garden. “I copied the idea because it looked unique and beautiful. The Ghetto Go Green advocates even visited me and gave me seedlings to plant in my urban garden,” he says. He says inadequate seedlings and poor soil texture are some of the challenges that he faces. The impact of the actions of Musinguzi, even in a small way, are responsible for reducing the carbon footprint in the world. The vegetation in the urban gardens help to improve air quality.
